Gaeatools is a set of programs that facilitate prospect appraisal. The programs are simple and can not compete with the many highly professional solutions that are available at the moment, such as the geochemical modeling and sophisticated statistical analysis programs. However they may be useful as a "light" introduction to solving the many small estimation problems that arise in the context of prospect appraisal and resource estimation. For instance: correction of the TOC, Total Organic Carbon for a sourcerock that is already mature, or a simple method to study the history of trap capacity in time for a prospect, etc.
The programs are being updated to function under Windows 10 using the VB.net development tool. I use the software for my consultancy and training.
GAEA is working on the following software for functioning in a .net environment of Windows10, although not all yet programmed for the .net framework. Underlined program names indicate that they have been updated to the ".net" system of Windows.
Gaeapas, the exploration prospect appraisal program, but also useful in estimating reserves in unappraised discoveries.
MAD a program for merging and addition of probabilistic resource estimates
PRODPROF, program to forecast a production profile on basis of Ultimate recovery. For a single or a set of discoveries. Deterministic based on a single u.ltimate recovery volume
PRODCASTING, Probabilistic production forecasting for oil and gas.
EEC, Expectation of Exploration Costs. The present value of an uncertain exploration program for use in Expected Monetary Value (EMV) calculation.
ADDRES, Addition and Merging of expectation curves when several prospect evaluations have to be aggregated, with interdependence of prospects.
POSMSV, Reconstruction of an expectation curve from percentile figures (P90, P50, P10, etc.) to estimate POS and MSV for various cutoffs.
ANOVA-PSA, Analysis of Variance for Petroleum System Modeling.
Important for proper addition of prospects with dependencies.
